SOLD - C1770 American built flintlock musket, utilizing British Long Land parts, including early "banana" shaped lock. Comes with a 2013 tag from James D. Julia Auctions, indicating its provenance to the Douglas M. Sirkin Collection of Rare Antique Arms. 41" round barrel with British proofs at breech. Fainly visible crown and TOWER markings on lock. Interesting pineapple finial musket triggerguard with hole for sling swivel. Metal parts have a light to dark patina overall with some minor pitting in the barrel breech area. Stock is good with an attractive grain, may have been lightly refinished, sound overall with scattered expected marks from handling. Has a small crack by the rear lock screw and small chips from recoil at rear of barrel tang. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
