M1816 Springfield musket. Excellent lock marks, eagle and US in front of lock and SPRING/FIELD/1835 at rear of lock. Metal has light to medium patina overall with a little patina around the nipple. Stock very good, shows average wear and use, cartouche visible opposite lock. Has a little crack behind the lock and a couple little chips near front of lock. Has an old tag (incorrectly) identifying it was a M1841 (M1842) Musket. Ramrod looks good, but is only 21-1/2" long. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot. Always buying, trades of antique guns considered.
