Springfield M1816 Type III percussion conversion musket. Dated 1835 on lock and proofed on barrel breech. Metal parts have a dark patina overall with rear lock marking cleaned to make readable, has scattered pitting overall that is heavier on the buttplate, probably from having sat in a moist place for many years. Stock is well-worn overall with numerous moderate handling marks, has some shallow small dents scattered and a tiny crack at rear of lock. Nipple is broken off in barrel. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
