Smith patent saddle ring cavalry carbine. Serial number 10077. Standard production model in fine condition with strong original color casehardening on frame and strong original blue finish on other metal parts, showing a little thinning on the barrel, spot of missing blue on triggerguard, and mostly a brown patina on buttplate. Stocks are fine with an open grain suggesting only light use, has some scattered light handling and storage marks, and a small chip at the toe of the butt. Has two inspector cartouches in left side of wrist, one stronger than the other. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
