British Snider Enfield Mark III cavalry carbine. Unusual gun with correct carbine sight, buttplate, etc., but with seemingly plugged cleaning rod hole at tip of forearm. Stock has original screw holes in forearm, screws absent, for original sight cover. Dated 1871 on lock. Front sight is a replacement. Buttplate trap is filled with old lead. Metal parts have a light to medium patina overall with good markings. Stock is very good, showing average wear and use overall with minor handling marks and a hairline crack in front of the lock and a hairline crack by the rear lock bolt. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
