American double barrel "spindle action" shotgun by Boyd & Tyler - $1450.00

Please click the image for a larger version
Scarce American double barrel shotgun by Boyd & Tyler. Novel "spindle" action that swivels at the breech to allow the manual extractors to be worked and the gun loaded. Made during a brief from the 1869 Francis E. Boyd and P. Shelton Tyler, Boston, Massachusetts patent to 1874 when the firm changed its name to the Boyd Breech-Loading Arms Co. 27-1/4" barrels, 12 gauge. Metal parts have an attractive untouched patina overall. Right barrel has one small ding near the muzzle (pictured). Checkered stocks are very good, showing light wear and use with minor handling marks, free of cracks and chips. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
