Sharps New Model 1863 3-band rifle. Serial number C34466. All markings present and well defined, including stock cartouches opposite lock, maker marks on barrel, patent marks on lock/frame, and numerous sub inspector marks on various metal parts. Barrel has an attractive plumb patina overall, frame and lock show strong patches of color casehardening, and other parts have smooth patina. Stocks are very good, showing some old added finish, has numerous minor marks from handling, and three old deeper bruises in the forearm ahead of the middle band. All mechanical functions appear to be good. Sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
