C1840-80 primitive frontier built percussion halfstock rifle. 36-1/2" octagon barrel of about .32 caliber bore. Metal parts are untouched except the cleaned lock plate. Has an inlay by the triggerguard stamped "SILVER MT" unsure if this means Silver Montana or Silver Mountain but is interesting in any case. Stock is simply made with a dramatic drop to the butt, has a crack at the front portion of the forearm, in front of the lock and a large chip missing from the toe of the butt for a long time. Hammer has spring tension but does not cock. Sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
