Belgian Albini-Braendlin breech loading military rifle. Date 52 on lock for 1852, "I" regimental marking for 9th regiment. Equipped with volley sights on rear sight and right of middle band. Front barrel band, cleaning rod, breech knob, and hammer striker are absent. Firing pin and spring are present in the block. Metal parts have a medium patina overall with a light to moderate pitting overall. Stock shows sooth wear from use, some expected handling marks with a concentration of bruises behind the hammer, crack in right side of butt at buttplate, and some well-worn missing slivers of wood to left of action that have been gone for a long time that present an appearance that the gun could have been made that way. Lock is mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
