Springfield M1817 aka M1807 Type I percussion conversion pistol. Dated 1818 on lock and barrel. Beautifully marked on lock and barrel with proofs, two stock cartouches opposite lock, and stock maker initial "B" in left side of grip. Trigger plate with initials "EA". 10-15/16" round barrel. Metal parts are lightly cleaned to a light gray with minimal pitting in the bolster area. Stock is good, having had a grip crack repaired, and lightly refinished overall with a pleasing, smooth appearance. Also has a small crack and chip by the rear lock bolt, and a hairline crack behind the sideplate. Nipple is chipped. Only about 400 of this type were produced, and virtually none are observed in original flintlock configuration. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
