M1842 US percussion pistol by H. Aston. Dated 1847 on lock and 1848 on barrel. Good barrel proofs and stock cartouches opposite lock. 8-1/2" round barrel with captive swivel ramrod mounted below. Lock and barrel have brown surfaces, brass mountings are light yellow. Has a little minor pitting in the bolster area. Stock is good, being worn smooth with scattered handling marks, free of cracks with a couple minor nicks. Attractive grain in grip area. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
