Colt M1849 pocket model 4" revolver. Serial number 289482 on triggerguard and frame, 308252 on barrel and butt, no number on lever or visible on cylinder. Wedge is an antique replacement. Full "ADDRESS COL SAML COLT NEW YORK US AMERICA" marking visible on barrel and "COLT'S PATENT" on frame. Metal parts are uncleaned aside from frame marking, showing old rust present and some scattered pitting. Nice mustard patina on brass parts. Wood grips are nicely worn smooth with minor handling marks and well-worn minor nicks on front corners. Cylinder arbor is believed to be bent, as barrel seems to point upward. This gun appears to have been assembled during the period of use and used this way for many years. Hammer cocks, but cylinder does not revolve. Sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
