.22 caliber long-barrel "poacher's gun" with skeleton shoulder stock. 7-1/2" round barrel marked "PAT DEC 10.78". Frame looks like it may have been marked over the sighting groove and isn't readable. Metal parts have traces of original nickel finish with mostly gray surfaces and scattered light pitting. Hard rubber grips have a small chips by the star on the left side. Hammer spring is weak, cylinder does not revolve on its own, and has an added handscrew on the bottom of the frame to fix the cylinder in place of the non-functioning cylinder stop. This is an interesting make-do feature that allowed someone to preserve the utility of this firearm for many years, probably for dispatching trapped animals. Sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
