M1795 percussion conversion musket. Lock is the earliest style of Springfield marked lock with vertical marking and no date, as used from 1799-1802. Barrel is marked "P M/RS 1811", no other markings present. Triggerguard is Type III style with rounded front. 42" barrel. Metal parts have dark patina overall with scattered uncleaned rust, minimal light pitting in the barrel breech area, and evidence of light cleaning on lock plate to make markings as visible as possible. Stock shows average wear and use with scattered light to moderate handling marks, small chip and crack above rear of lock and a flat grain crack in the right side of the butt. One lock screw is an antique replacement. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
