US M1816 percussion conversion musket. Marked on lock in front of hammer "US/A.WATERS" and at rear of lock "MILBURY/1830". Barrel shortened to 31-1/2" long, forearm shortened to 10-1/2" back from barrel muzzle. Sling swivel and band spring are absent. Metal parts have a medium to dark patina overall with minor pitting in the barrel breech area. Stock has been lightly cleaned, showing some minor age checking and a crack opposite the lock. Mechanically good except does not have half cock, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
