shortened M1861 Special Model musket by SN&WTC for Massachusetts. Dated 1863 on lock and 1864 on barrel. Markings on metal parts are all excellent and clear. Barrel shortened to 20" length with full stock configuration. Metal parts have added brown finish and are free pitting. Sling swivel removed from triggerguard. Rifled bore and original rear sight. Stock is excellent with sharp edges and little use, has several bruises from storage and a wrist crack. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
