M1835 D.S.Nippes Maynard conversion musket - $2250.00

D.S.Nippes, Philadelphia, PA Maynard tape primed percussion musket. Flayderman 9A-267. Marked at tail of lock "MILL/CREEK/PA/1842" and on barrel "US/JH/P" and dated 1844. Stock cartouches present opposite lock. Metal parts retain most of the original bright polish with minor freckles of patina. Nipple shows the original blue, and the striking surface of the hammer still retains an inspection initial. The stock has been lightly refinished, has an attractive wavy grain, free of cracks, with a small filled spot by the sideplate and one by the buttplate tang. Mechanically good including tape primer, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
