Austrian M1854 Lorenz musket. Popular import for the American Civil War. Dated 856 (1856) on lock. Original length stock and barrel. Metal parts have an untouched patina with with uncleaned scattered rust and some pitting present. Stock shows a suggestion of having been lightly cleaned at some point long ago, and has an attractive worn patina overall with some minor marks from handling, a couple small cracks/slivers from the ramrod channel, a crack to right of barrel tang, and a couple age cracks in the toe and heel of rear of butt. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
