Single barrel percussion halfstock fowler. Has a partial marking on the lock "...ETHERLAND". 44" part octagon part round barrel. This is a well-worn gun that saw a good deal of use over the years, as indicated by the amount of erosion around the bolster. The stock is loose to the barrel due to the pin retainer on the bottom of the barrel being slipped out of its mortise (it is still present in the stock with the pin.) Barrel was cleaned to a salt-and-pepper coloration, other parts have a dark patina. Stock shows average wear and use with some minor age checks at the back of the butt and a small piece of wood replaced to left of barrel tang. This gun has a lot of character and no doubt provided food to a plain family for many years. Hammer is loose to tumbler, has spring tension, but does not cock. Sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
