Percussion longfowler built with an early C1750-70 English proofed barrel with two decorative "wedding band" rings. Barrel is 52-1/2" long and about 0.70" bore. Interesting period horn-tipped wooden ramrod with a sheet metal "bandage" near the entry ferule. Metal parts have an untouched patina overall with expected erosion and pitting around the nipple. Stock has an attractive, honest appearance overall with a glued diagonal crack in the forearm, sliver missing to right of upper ramrod pipe, a couple slivers around the lock mortise and barrel tang, has a minor lateral crack opposite the lock, and a piece of wood replaced above the lock long ago. Hammer does not hold at half cock, does hold at full cock and releases when the trigger is squeezed. Sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
