Second Model Merrill breech loading percussion carbine. Serial number 15232. Brass parts have a pleasing dark patina, iron parts were cleaned and are starting to acquire some patina, with some scattered light rust and some pitting on the lock plate. Stock is very good, has name "Pep Peabody" neatly scratched into the left side of the butt in small lettering. Wood has an attractive patina and evenly worn appearance, free of chips with two small cracks barely worth mentioning, one in the upper edge in front of the lock and a small age crack in the left side of the butt. Missing saddle ring and breech release buttons. Otherwise mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
