Jenks-Maynard breechloading carbine - $1750.00

Scarce Jenks breechloading carbine with Maynard tape primer by Remington. Only 1,000 produced. Marked "REMINGTON'S/HERKIMER" on lockplate and "W JENKS/U.S.N/RP/P/1847/CAST STEEL" on top of barrel breech. Metal parts have a light to medium patina overall. Stock has a visible cartouche opposite the lock with a crack above, and a repaired crack behind the lock with some wood filler. Wood overall has an honestly used appearance with minor handling marks. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
