L.C.Smith No.1 hammerless damascus double shotgun. Serial number 40896, made in 1896. 30" barrels, 12 gauge. Nicely engraved frame and locks. Very fine damascus finish on barrels. Frame and locks with some color casehardening, mixing with attractive medium patina. Stocks show light wear and use overall with minor handling marks, free of chips, with a couple minor grain checks in the butt. Hard rubber pistol grip cap and buttplate are fine. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
