Rare Dangerfield & Lefever double barrel shotgun, converted from percussion to cartridge using patent system. Unmarked. This represents the first breech loading arm made by Daniel Lefever, before going into business on his own and producing fine shotguns for many decades. 30" barrels, 12 gauge. Metal parts are partially cleaned with a medium patina overall and some damascus striping on the barrels. Hammer screw is chipped on the right side. Has a few small dings in the barrels. Stock is good, showing average wear and use with good checkering. Has a small crack in the forearm behind the pivot joint, a small chip by the buttplate and a flake/crack in the right side of the pistol grip, which is somewhat hidden by the checkering. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
