C1860 percussion halfstock rifle by James, as marked on barrel. 32" 7/8" octagon barrel of about .38 caliber bore. Barrel additionally marked "26" and possibly "CS" closer to breech, but otherwise unmarked, and exact maker is unknown. Nice original open sights. Metal parts with medium to dark patina overall with rust on the lock and barrel. Stock is very good, showing evidence of having been cleaned, has a couple minor hairline grain cracks and a gouge below the lock screw. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
