C1750-70 American flintlock holster pistol. 12-1/2" part octagon, part round barrel with "wedding band" separator, about .69 caliber and 20" overall. No markings or proofs apparent. Overall quality but primitive construction most resembling an early British pistol with "banana" shaped lock, slightly pointed beavertail carving around barrel tang, and triggerguard with a short, rounded forward portion. Iron triggerguard, brass ramrod pipes and reinforcing band on stock near muzzle. Made without sideplate or buttcap. Iron ramrod with threaded end. Iron parts may have been lightly cleaned at some point, now with an overall light rust and some light pitting in the flash hole area. Stock has a nice original appearance with a worn patina, scattered minor handling marks, minor cracking to the forearm near the reinforcing band, slight chip in front of lock, and stress crack by rear lock screw. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
