C1700-20 flintlock belt style pistol. Very early style with barrel screw that enters from the underside of the stock and flashpan made without a reinforcing bar for the frizzen. 7-1/2" long barrel with bore of about .45 caliber, about 12-1/2" overall. Brass parts were cleaned at some point, iron parts are uncleaned with some old rust, smoothed down from age. Nicely shaped sheet brass triggerguard and barrel ornamented with brass overlay. One screw missing from sideplate. Stock shows moderate wear and use, nicely border carved, missing some slivers from the lock mortise and chips by the buttcap, all of which are worn, with one repaired crack in front of the lock. Appears to be missing a forearm nose cap and possibly a couple chips of wood. Mechanically good except releases from half cock, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
