Colt M1862 Police 5-1/2" revolver. Serial number 15613. Marked on top of barreL "-ADDRESS COL SAML COLT NEW-YORK US AMERICA-". Patent marking present in cylinder flute, "COLT'S PATENT" on frame and "36 CAL" on side of triggerguard. Metal parts have a medium patina overall with a little case color on frame and original blue in cylinder flutes. Wood grips are very good, showing wear and minor marks from typical handling and a couple minor well-worn corner nicks and dings on the butt from improper use as a hammer. Action generally functions well, but sometimes does not revolve due to barrel/frame spacing, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
