Moore "7 shot" cartridge revolver. Serial number 5975. Production of this model was halted due to patent infringement against Smith & Wesson, inspiring the "teat fire" revolvers that did not have a completely bored through cylinder. Barrel is marked "MANFD FOR SMITH & WESSON BY MOORE'S PAT FIRE ARMS CO", indicating that it had been turned over to Smith following the legal action. Barrel and cylinder rotate to the side for extraction and loading. Attractive engraved brass parts typical of Moore's guns. Metal parts have a medium patina overall with some original silver finish on the brass. Extractor rod is a replacement, which is typical for this model. Wood grips are very good, showing average wear and use with some dings on the bottom from improper use as a hammer, and a couple minuscule corner nicks. Only functions mechanically if the barrel is pointed down, possibly a weak or broken sear spring. Sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
