M1795 Springfield Type III percussion conversion musket. Dated 1812 on buttplate and lock. All markings visible with eagle on lock complete but a little weak, with a good "US" script cartouche opposite lock and "NS" inspector mark behind triggerguard clearly visible. 44-3/4" barrel. Metal parts have a brown patina overall with some expected pitting in the breech area and on the buttplate. Nice handmade period replacement ramrod. Stock is good,k showing a lot of even, honest wear overall with numerous minor handling marks, numerous little worn nips to the forearm edges and ramrod channel edges, crack by the lock screw, and a well-disguised repaired wrist crack. Stock overall was not abused, has nice lines and presents well.
