Springfield M1863 Type II musket dated 1864 on lock. Left side of stock has fine ESA cartouche, barrel V, P, and Eagle proofs are faint but visible. Metal parts have a pleasing brown patina overall with some pitting in the barrel breech area. Stock has an untouched appearance with well-defined edges, has some minor chips around buttplate, and lock. There are expected handling marks overall, and some old scrape marks that have since become worn where the lower band was slid on while too tight. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
