M1861 US contract musket by E. Robinson, New York. Dated 1864 on lock, good barrel proofs but no barrel date. Metal parts have a dark patina overall with overall light pitting. Rear sight 500 yard leaf is absent. Stock shows average wear and use with good edges, but has numerous light handling marks with some scattered moderate handling marks. Has some nicks and chips in the ramrod channel and a sliver to the left of the barrel tang. Nipple is chipped off. Mechanically good except releases from half cock, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
