Eli Whitney M1812 "N.HAVEN" marked contract musket for the State of New York. 42" barrel, converted to percussion with the drum and nipple system. Metal parts have good markings and an attractive patina overall. Stock is good with fairly well defined edges, burned out a little behind the hammer, a small crack in front of the lock mortise, some minor slivering to the ramrod channel, a long narrow sliver missing from the right forearm edge and a hairline crack in left edge opposite. Overall stock shows average wear and use with scattered minor handling marks. This is a good looking gun, complete with both sling swivels. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
