Harpers Ferry M1795 flintlock musket. Beautifully marked original flint lock dated 1813. Metal parts show a rich, smooth, almost black untouched patina with some pitting on the buttplate and barrel breech area, with some old rust on other parts. The musket has been restored from having been reduced to a shotgun by adding a 42-1/8" militia musket barrel that originally went in a pinned stock, and added stock wood from the middle band forward. Stock is evenly worn with the restored wood being nicely colored and not an immediately apparent restoration. There are some minor age checks by the buttplate, a crack by the rear lock screw and a crack in the forearm edge in front of the lock. There is a partly visible inspector mark opposite the lock and two inspector marks between the buttplate and triggerguard in the stock. Has initials "LI" by triggerguard, possible initials opposite lock, and a faint name in the left side of the butt. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
