P1853 British Enfield percussion musket. Marked on lock E.P.BOND/LONDON. Barrel shows London proof marks with "25" gauge mark. Metal parts have a dark patina overall with worn moderate pitting on iron parts. Rear sight is original and spring is present, but does not hold the ladder down. Several screws are replacements. Stock is good, has some shinkage and checks near the buttplate, along with a small replaced piece to left of buttplate tang. Otherwise stock shows some minor checks opposite the lock, small hairline below the lock, small chip by triggerguard, but is sound overall with scattered marks from handling. Mechanically good except trigger releases the hammer from half cock, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
