Burnside 5th model percussion breechloading carbine. Serial number 39432. Metal parts have a light to medium patina overall. Stocks are good, showing wear and use, good visible cartouches in wrist, missing a small sliver long ago from the left side of the forearm tip and a small crack above the lock. Interestingly, during the period of use, two escutcheons from a McClellan saddle were applied to the right side of the butt. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
